Support for healthcare organisations, health consumer organisations (patient advocacy organisations), and healthcare professionals is intended to improve patient health outcomes and the quality use of medicines. This includes financial and in-kind support for an extensive range of research, medical education and patient support/advocacy initiatives across many therapeutic areas.
Philanthropic support for non-health charitable (not-for-profit) organisations demonstrates the company’s commitment to social responsibility. Priority giving areas relate to humanitarian and social; science and education; culture and arts; and community and environment. Roche prefers to focus its philanthropic support on a few key initiatives over a one to three year timeframe.
A significant number of requests for support are received throughout the year, and each of these is considered in accordance with Roche and industry guidelines, and available resources. As assessments may occur during set timeframes, communication of decisions may take a number of weeks.
Requests are assessed against criteria such as public expectations and standards, adherence to regulations and policies, qualification of the requesting organisation, alignment with Roche’s areas of interest, contribution to the quality use of medicines, scientific merit, and available funds.
All requests must be made on behalf of an organisation, not for an individual, or an organisation representing only one individual; and the person making the request must be affiliated with the organisation. Roche provides some support for individual healthcare professionals to attend medical education meetings, but these are by invitation only for pre-selected events (ie Roche does not accept ad-hoc requests for support to attend meetings).
Requests to support non-clinical research may be submitted using the web form. Requests for investigator initiated studies support may be submitted by clicking here. All other requests to support medical research and clinical studies must be made directly through Roche Medical at Australia.firstname.lastname@example.org.
All requests for support must be submitted in writing, by answering all mandatory questions in the web form below.
Approved support will only be delivered following receipt of a signed letter of agreement. As required by Roche and industry guidelines, details of the support will be made publicly available (ie as per mandatory Medicines Australia transparency reporting requirements).
If you have specific questions about the criteria or your submission, please contact Roche Corporate Affairs on Australia.email@example.com, or call +61 2 9454 9948.
