Reconciliation
Our journey at Roche Pharma

Supporting the Relationships pillar of our strategy, we are working to build relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the broader community. We have partnered with Jawun and offer our people the opportunity to take part in secondments into indigenous organisations. In these secondments to Central Australia or Inner Sydney, our people help build relationships and partnerships with indigenous communities, develop a deep understanding of attitudes, behaviours and cultural norms, while also helping to build capabilities and skills within those organisations to support their future growth and development. As Jawun says, it is two-way learning and skills sharing.

In addition to regularly paying our respects to the Traditional Owners of the Land, we include the Traditional Place name in our head office address and email signatures, acknowledging and celebrating the traditional custodians of the land in an everyday practice.

As we continue our journey, we are committed to making a difference in other areas, such as indigenous education and development opportunities, evaluating our own procurement practices and establishing a cultural awareness training program for our people.

In 2020 we were proud to embark on our reconciliation journey. Our strategy covers three key areas: Relationships, Respect and Opportunities and is underpinned by Governance and Reporting.
