Sustainability

Investing in a healthier planet and healthier communities in Australia

For over 128 years, sustainability has been an integral part of Roche’s business. Our biggest contribution to society is to improve healthcare provision by developing diagnostic tests and medicines capable of meeting some of the world’s most pressing medical needs.

Everyone at Roche is responsible for driving sustainability in their day-to-day work. Adopting a long-term view and living our values of passion, courage and integrity are fundamental to the way we collaborate with our partners, and key to our longevity as a business in Australia.

As part of the global Roche Group, a leader in sustainable healthcare, we are dedicated to creating positive economic, social, and environmental impact. We are proud to have been recognised as one of the most sustainable healthcare companies in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, every year since 2009.

We measure the impact of our sustainability initiatives through alignment to, and our contribution towards, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In Australia, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) is our primary focus, as we leverage our core business capabilities to improve health outcomes, advance medical innovation, and foster healthier environments.

Our Annual Sustainability Statement outlines our commitments, progress, and activities in 2024, as we strive to build a healthier, more sustainable future for all Australians.
